Feed the Need is an innovative project in Charleston South Carolina that combines the hard work, support and talent of 52 area restaurants to serve more than 25,000 meals at four local hunger focused charities. Meals are prepared in the restaurant’s kitchen and delivered and served by the restaurant’s staff. Grassroots is proud to support Feed the Need and of our restaurant clients who support it as well.
After a one month delay for Hurricane Matthew, Dining for a Cause was held at the Cedar Room at the Cigar Factory on November 15, 2016. The goal of the evening was to raise funds to support 3 local charities: Tri-Country Family Ministries, Neighborhood House and One80 Place. More than $270,000 were raised at Dining for a Cause.
The event itself is uniquely Charleston, 20 chefs break into teams of 4. Each team represents a classic Charleston neighborhood. Grassroots was proud to support the Harleston Village team of Marc Collins from Circa 1886, Bradley Grozis from Wild One, Robert Carter from Barony Tavern, and Michelle Weaver from Charleston Grill.
Wines served in Harleston Village:
Domaine Gueguen Cotes d’Auxerre Blanc
Domaine Lombard Brezeme Cotes du Rhone Grand Chene
